Lessons

Lessons are offered in four-month semesters containing 14 weeks of lessons, with enrollment requiring a commitment to the full semester. Tuition is paid monthly and reserves the student's weekly lesson time for the duration of the semester. Students may enroll for the following semester at the conclusion of each term, with returning students receiving priority for their preferred lesson time.

Tuition is a flat semester fee that is divided into four equal monthly payments.

Tuition will be paid through autopay via bank ACH or credit card via Stripe on my studio's Nova Music platform. Payments are processed on the 1st of each month. 

A $30 late fee will be applied to missed payments. Tuition not received within 3 business days of the due date will result in the student’s lessons being suspended until the outstanding balance has been paid in full. 

Once a student enrolls for a semester, tuition is non-refundable, as the student’s weekly lesson time is reserved exclusively for them.

Because tuition reserves a student’s weekly lesson time for the entire semester, student cancellations and missed lessons are not eligible for refunds, tuition reductions, or make-up lessons. However, when a student is unable to attend a in person lesson, they may choose one of the following alternatives:

• Attend a virtual lesson using FaceTime or Zoom or Google Meet. This is a great way to make a lesson still happen if a student or family member is sick or if transportation issues arise. Virtual lessons will take place during your regularly scheduled lesson time and must be coordinated prior to the lesson start time.

• Attend an asynchronous lesson. Students will send videos of each piece practiced and the teacher will use the student’s lesson time to respond with videos, written feedback, and/or an additional assignment to work on during the upcoming week.

In the event of hazardous weather—including significant snowfall, ice, flooding, dangerous road conditions, severe thunderstorms, or other unsafe conditions— all lessons will be moved online.

Any lessons cancelled by the teacher (due to illness or other emergency situations) will be credited to the following semester. ​

Students are responsible for purchasing required piano materials. For beginning piano students, the teacher will select and purchase the appropriate curriculum. The $35 curriculum fee will be due at the student’s first lesson. Additional materials will be communicated to the family as they become necessary.

My studio is located in my home in the Belmont neighborhood right next to Kettering, OH. In-home piano lessons are available by request and are subject to scheduling availability. An In-Home Lesson Service Fee will be added in addition to tuition to help offset the costs of travel time, mileage, vehicle operation and maintenance, transportation of teaching materials and equipment, and other expenses associated with providing in-home instruction.
